"Life sometimes throws us curves and we find ourselves in a situation that is hard.  Our family found themselves in this situation after my father-in-law, Charles did not bounce back after back surgery, an earlier stroke and was 100% confined to a wheelchair.  We desperately began looking for somewhere that we could place him that was not a nursing home setting and more like home.  After several dead ends, through friends we found out about Assisted Living of Montgomery County.  One phone call to Della Lopez made me realize there was hope and I scheduled an appointment to discuss my FIL’s needs and see if this was a good fit.  My daughter and I walked in to the home and all our fears were immediately relieved.  The home was spotless and most importantly it did not smell like “old people” and was warm and inviting.  Della and her staff sat and discussed Charles and we knew this was our answer to many prayers.  Almost 3 years have passed since this day and I can honestly say we have never second thought this decision.  

 

Charles has grown to love his home and the care he receives is the best! He loves the staff and they love him.  If there are concerns about his health they let me know and also contact his home health providers.  I can’t put into words how much we appreciate Della and the staff of Assisted Living of Montgomery County.  No one wants to make the decision to place their family member outside of their home but when you are no longer able to safely care for them hard decisions have to be made.  Our family 110% believes the decision we made to place Charles at Assisted Living of Montgomery County with his second family was our answer to prayers."
